About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working in the field for over 30 years. I started working with couples about 17 years ago. I saw that an unsatisfying relationship was often the root cause of other problems. I decided to try to help people address that problem. Research shows the number one problem is relationships is poor communication. The major problem I see with communication is that we actually believe we are communicating effectively. I find that most couples misunderstand the others communication. Over time the beliefs about what each other thinks, feels, and acts are inaccurate. My goal is to help a couple truly understand each other and look to see if they can meet each others needs. I want the experience to be positive. The only side I take is the side of the relationship. You can't have one partner feel better at the expense of the other. A couple is a unit. Both parties must be satisfied or it won't work. My goal is to help people figure out what will make them healthy in their relationship. Most answers are right in front of us and they make sense when someone help us see them.
My style is straight forward, but hopefully not rude or cruel. I strive to help everyone feel hopeful and empowered. I will explain in as much detail as desired about why I think the way I do about any issue. People want to feel progress so I attempt to help them move forward as quickly as possible. There is no magic. If whatever i say doesn't make sense then challenge me. My goal is to simple help you meet your goal.
My primary intervention style is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I borrow from many other styles when i feel it is appropriate, but I find that CBT is the most logical framework to best help people.

Great sessions. All good.
He's really in tune w simply trying to help. He listens and offers considerate, thoughtful ideas that have helped us only in the first 3 sessions. He's one of your great people, I'm sure
I really enjoy talking to Jeff he helps me see the bigger picture and different perspectives, and challenges me and my views in a non aggressive or condescending way, he is helping me so much thank you Jeff
Jeff is great, he instantly put us at ease and gave us techniques to use that started to have almost instant positive effects. He doesn't beat around the bush either so that you get right to the crux of the issues in order to start on your healing journey free from all the baggage.
Jeff was very supportive in helping us find new ways to talk to each other in ways that lead to constructive disagreements, centred around empathy and understanding.
This has helped us greatly.
