About me
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 21 years working with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois and become licensed in Illinois , Indiana and Montana. I have experience with people who have depression, anxiety, PTSD and grief issues. I have also done therapy with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and have experienced other trauma in their lives. I have a therapy style that draws on several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapies. I believe that holistic approaches that acknowledge the mind, body and spirit connection can be very effective with people who are dealing with today's fast paced lives that often lead to stress related problems.
Couples come to therapy for many reasons from affairs, poor communication, fighting, and extended family issues. I often use an Emotional Intelligence approach to help couples look at destructive communication patterns and emotional reactivity and how this is impacting their relationship. Couples will be active in creating a plan to move forward using their own strengths and applying aspects of Gottman's Couples Therapy.

Mary has been really helpful, my husband and I feel real growth in our marriage.
Mary is very compassionate and thoughtful - we look forward to our sessions with Mary!
Mary is such a gem. Having seen therapists for the majority of my life, I’d have to say she’s easily been the best. Very patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. Listens to both sides of the story and always has thoughtful input. Always made my boyfriend and I feel comfortable discussing anything—even the most troubling/difficult moments of our relationship. Highly highly recommend.
Mary is a consummate professional. We came looking for someone who could speak from a place of experience in relationships, mental health, and communication. She's also been flexible with our schedule and readily available.
Mary does a great job listening to our concerns, helping us better understand each other and applies extensive knowledge to clarify our experiences and points of view.

Mary, has been great, she has been able to get us both to open up. It has taken some time for my husband but he is becoming a willing participant. Kudos for her taking her time to listen to us both
Mary really has my interests at heart! I was so glad to find her in a very difficult time.
