About me
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. I offer therapy for couples and families of all types and structures, As a Social Worker I believe that where we live, our physical wellness, the way we think, our past, the emotions we experience, what gives our lives meaning and purpose and often so many other factors all play a part in making our lives what they are, so the treatment I offer looks at all of these. Everything we talk about is strictly confidential, allowing us to talk about anything and everything. I never judge and you can expect me to be honest and truthful with you. I absolutely believe in the potential for everyone to experience a positive change in their life. I use a number of different therapeutic styles many of which include helping people manage their problems, figure out what is really important to them, work out what they want from life and what they can do to move them towards their hopes and dreams. I am an American citizen but was born and spent the first 30 years of my life in England and I still retain much of my accent. My first career was working for the British government. I returned to school and obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work at the age of 40. As well as academic and theoretical knowledge, I draw on a broad range of life experiences including having had my own personal struggles with both mental health problems and substance use. At present I offer standard office hour appointments, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm, although I have accommodated individual scheduling requirements in the past. Our initial visit includes a lot of information gathering to help me better understand what I can do to help you. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your life story and helping you write the next chapter.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Philip Bloomer. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Phil is the best
Phil is easy to talk to. Very patient, kind, & upstanding. He makes light in a tuff situations. Makes himself available as possible to fit schedules. tries to connect to each of you as a whole person. I am very thankful for his time & kindness.
Philips commitment to our relationship's recovery is unmatched.
If you are not an open minded person Phil may not be for you. He has truly helped shape a different mindset not only in my husband and I's relationship, but also in how we view relationships outside of us. He is always so supportive and such a fun person. He can be serious, but relays consistently that life happens and that we are people with emotions that must be felt. Overall, Phil has been amazing and so uplifting and I'd recommend him to anyone that wants to feel better about themselves and built stronger safer connections with others.
He has helped so much from an outside view that was needed. So glad we found him and for Philip's help.
We have been with Phil on and off for over a year. we love him and even though we are not seeing him weekly anymore, he remembers us extremely well and we always great sessions.
Great listener, and offers helpful suggestions in a way that doesn’t feel at all dismissive or insulting. I’ve seen lots of therapists over the years and he’s one of, if not the best.
Phil is open minded and we feel comfortable working with him. He is a good therapist.
A very knowledgeable and empathetic therapist. I would highly recommend.
Phil is absolutely amazing and is very good at allowing us both to speak without interruption, and to listen to what the other has to say. He has sound advice, and provides great insight to how we both perceive situations. We are a great team. I have already recommended him to some friends!
He is so kind. He always helps me to gather a better perspective of my emotions. I’ve learned so many valuable skills from our sessions.
While we’ve only had one session with Philip so far, I really like him; he’s friendly, a good listener and a competent therapist who isn’t afraid to speak honestly to clients and move sessions along without me or my significant other feeling pushed too hard.
I’ve only had one session so far, but I felt really comfortable talking to Philip. He listened and responded appropriately and he asked really good thought provoking questions. I can’t wait to keep going and dig deeper. Thank you Philip!
