About me
The greatest obstacle I've found to effective relationships is poor listening abilities. 12- Step Fellowships often advise building a good awareness ratio of talking-words spoken-to listening-words heard. Where relationship difficulties are the problem, I've often found that folks tend to focus more on themselves than their partners, to the detriment of the overall relationship. I firmly believe that positive, productive relationships are founded on each individual's respect for the views of all others involved in the relationship(s). Also, we can't give what we don't have: unless I'm in good touch with my own self, I can't expect to cultivate positive, productive relationships with other folks.
